    Question:
Just purchased a Weedeater One yesterday went to try it out today and the deck will not lower. I engage the deck lever and push it down all the way and the deck stays about 5 inches off the ground. Any Ideas on what is wrong?

Hey John, thanks for contacting us at Answer Army.

First and foremost, make sure to press the black lever button to release the deck for height adjustment.  I'm confident that you have already done that, but it never hurts to make sure.  Second, please look between your frame and deck for any visual obstruction that may be causing the deck lift to improperly function.  The next item to observe is the release tip and to make sure it is properly disengaging when the black lever button is pressed on the deck lift handle.  This tip is what locks the deck at the chosen height.  Please look at the attached image to view the placement of tip.  When operating correctly, you will see it move in and out when pressing the black deck lever button.

Otherwise, you may want to contact your local Servicing Dealer for further evaluation.  Please visit the following website to find your local Servicing Dealer: http://www.weedeater.com/node7833.aspx

Thank you again for the question.

        Hey guys,

I figured it out. Somehow the deck was jammed above the drive-chain guard. When I first looked at it it looked like it was supposed to be attached so I did not think anything about it. I went back to where I purchased it and looked at the display and realized what was wrong. Now I have to mow the lawn today. I have run out of excuses. Thanks for he helpful information.

My drive chain slips to the point where it is not working. It will not slip if I go in reverse, but forward it just turns and turns. Can you help?  I have only had this mower for 5 mowings.

        Mike,

It is hard to evaluate what exactly is happening with your mower.  The only and best recommendation would be to contact your local servicing dealer.  Please use the link below to find one near you.

I have not had this mower for more then 5 weeks. I feel like I have just flushed 700 dollars down the toilet with this thing. I should not have to bring it to a dealer for repairs due to the drive chain is slipping and failing to turn the mower's rear wheels.

            Mike,

Without being able to see the mower, then we are unable to help you troubleshoot through your issue.  Our dealers are our eyes and ears out in the field.  It seems that your mower may need repair to correct the problem and I still recommend contacting them for additional advice.
