    Question:
After using my newly purchased Poulonpro chainsaw model P4018WT, for about 20 minutes, I stopped to check the fuel, but then could not restart it. Menards advised me that I had to have it serviced. I was told that it was clogged with saw dust. Why would a new saw clog up this quickly? Is this a manufacturer's defect? I was usingit to cut the tops off of four inch fence posts.

    Bill,

Thanks for contacting Husqvarna to post your questions.

It could be a number of things causing it to clog up too quickly. If you are talking about where the bar mounts to the machine normal cleaning is part of the maintenance as is keeping the air filter clean. If it is at the bar you can check to make sure it is oiling properly. Too much oil will cause it to clog and too little will cause the chain to get dull and burn the wood instead of cutting it. We recommend cleaning the air filter at least before each use or during refueling if possible. The air filter is what is guarding your engine from damage due to ingestion of debris.

    Thanks again
