Can I run a Husquvarna 372XP with a dry chain oil reservoir without ruining the oil pump?
I am using it with a Lewis Winch and there is no Chain to oil. If I have oil in the tank it makes a mess.

Answer
I would not recommend it as it would be metal on metal contact. If I got the right setup in mind. You can remove the oil pump drive pinion gear and then you would be find as it would pump any oil any if the tank is full. It would require remove the clutch assembly in top remove the pinion gear.
