Question:
As I have gotten older I can no longer pull over my 55 rancher. I see it has the boss on the cyl. for compression release. I am a machinist and have the skill and the machines to add a compression release. Would you please supply me the information I need to machine the compression release into my existing cyl.

Answer
Appears to be 10mm-1.00 threaded. I would do test hole first to make the decompression valve fits good.
Also you should removed the cylinder so all the chips can be removed.
