Question:
I just purchased the DRT900. After tilling for 5-10 minutes in Forward mode, the tiller abruptly shut off. After investigating, I noticed the Left cleaning tine was bent toward the transmission case and was scraping against the side. I thought that perhaps this was bent like this from the start, and so after having it replaced at the dealer, began to till again. After the same amount of time the same thing happened. I have removed the cleaning tine. What could be causing this?
Answer
We regret to note the tine problem with your tiller, but bending of the cleaning tine is not a frequently reported condition.
Reviewing that complaint, we have been able to determine that complaint normally only is reported when tilling virgin, hard-packed soil or rocky soil, where rocks or solid clumps of soil wedge against the tine with enough force to cause it to bend.
If you need additional review of this condition, we can only suggest you have your service dealer check and evaluate the unit and situation.
