Question:
I’ve only used this saw a few times over the past year. It always started reliably and ran with plenty
of power. Well it finally refused to start. Here is what I found:
1. The saw did fire a couple of times, but would not start, after that, it no longer fired.
2. It had a strong spark.
3. The cylinder was flooded.
After reading your Q&As I did the following:
1. Drained the cylinder then dried it out with compressed air.
2. Cleaned the spark plug.
3. Cleaned the decompression valve using carburetor cleaner. (This was the real cause of the problem.)
To my surprise, the saw started on the first pull. I’ll be referencing this site in the future when I need technical advice.
