    Question:
I just purchased a "Husky" 450E chainsaw. When cutting small limbs, the chain stuck in a limb and was "thrown" out of the track in the bar. When I opened the cover to put on the chain I noticed a hard circular white plastic washer. Does anyone have an idea of where the washer came from??? I have not tried to saw with it again until I solve this mystery. I have looked at exploded views of the clutch cover online and have not found it in the view. Anyone have any ideas??? Thanks in advance

The plastic washer that should be about 1/8-1/4" thick was a packaging spacer to protect the chain brake assembly and clutch drum when was shipped with the bar uninstalled. It should have been removed and discarded upon the bar and chain installation.

Many thanks Eugene. Your response confirms my thoughts. A spacer that I should have seen upon bar and chain install. I was working with poor light and these eyes of mine after 62 years on the planet miss things. All is well now and back to work clearing small cedar and osage orange trees from a pasture.
