    Question:
Hello. I have a Husqvarna sraight shaft trimmer, I believe the model is the 223L. Anyway, it works fine, has lots of power, but the one complaint I have is that the engine housing is HOT HOT HOT. Its so hot that I have to wear a knee pad on my forearm to keep from being burned. Every trimmer I have owned has allowed me to rest my arm against the motor, without being burned. Is this normal for the Husqvarna line of trimmers? Thanks

Hey Eben, after almost two years, did you ever resolve this issue?  We just got a new 323L straight shaft trimmer and my experience is the exact same as yours.

I have this same problem... I am considering removing the cover and placing a steel heat shield below the plastic cover... My blistered forearm is why I am here today.  I lover the power of this trimmer.  I turned the carb as rich as it will go, no effect...
