    Question:
Engine Surge in idle and light loads
    Details:

Got a new (5-7 uses) walk behind Lawn Mower  model HU725AWDHQ with a 725EXI Engine. It works fine but engine surge during idle (RPM changing up and down). Only during heavy loads will the engine settle on a constant RPM, otherwise it surges. Engine is otherwise smooth and does not misfire but it looks like it is unable to keep a constant RPM.

This normal for newer engines as they running so lean. Just depends how bad it is. Sometimes the governor's static adjustment can be tweak to remove most of it but not always. Also this is throttleless design so it has to be responsive to the slight load changes.

When new (off the box) it did not do this.... After a few weeks (cuts) it did only during initial starts (2-3 minutes after a starting) and then it settle, but now it is doing all of the time even during mowing... if this is normal with new engines it is a bad design.
