Chainsaws

I have bought 2 new gas caps for my 455 rancher and they both leak gas.The opening to the saw is not damaged nor are there any wood chips ect. The saw is not leaking from the fuel lines or tank or primer bulb as I can see the leak coming from the cap. Is this the methanol gss?.-Kip
