Just FYI, Anything before the year 2000 used only the first digit for the year, so in your case "2", and the case and body colors were Orange, Much older Husqvarna chainsaws used colors other than orange, like blue,or white, and years were determined by their color.
In the year 2000, they switched the numbering for the year to the first two digits. so 2008, the serial number would start with "08"
And finally, in the year 2010, they switched to using the first four digits, so 2011, the serial number would start with number "2011"
I hope this helps,
Karla

Thank you very much. Maybe you could help with another issue. I have been as yet unable to find ANYONE that offers a cylinder for the same saw. Plenty of pistons, but not one single cylinder except used. Any insights?
I did some searching and only an used cylinder listed for sale but can't recommend it as it has some internal damage.
Things are not what they once was. At one time you could repair very old equipment now it seems the manufactures are just wanting the equipment to just die quickly after the warranty period.

You might try searching one of the chainsaw forumns like "Arborsite", you can subscribe, here is a Link:
http://www.arboristsite.com/community/forums/chainsaw.9/
There are alot of Dealers, and very Knowledgeable people, who can probably locate the cylinder for a 2100 CD.
I hope this helps,
