Question:
I have a Husqvarna 9027STE XP that is about 12 years old. I need to replace the traction belt. The schematic refers me to 532 179092...this now a toothed/cogged belt. The belt that is in my machine (and was original) in SMOOTH. The cogged belt wil not stay in once I put the machine into reverse. Does anyone have a source for the smooth belt? I've called Husq customer service and they don;t seem to understand the question...and keep telling me to order the above part number. I'm now at the point of going out to see if I can find some sort of universal belt in the 1/2 by 34 1/2 size...I can find 1/2 by 34 but no luck on the 34 1/2 YET...anybody know if the 1/2 inch difference is critical? I know there is no way to adjust tension so not sure....
Answer
Sound more like either a belt retainer problem or a problem with the transmission.
Here is a source that has the 4L345 belt if that is what wanting to try first. As for if the 1/2 length is critical is especially when there is no adjustments. The shipping fairly high from these folks but is made up the low prices on the belts.
