    Question:
I own a Husqvarna Riding mower GTH26V52LS and it seems the Hydra stat is going out in the unit. The unit only has 377 Hrs on the unit. Mower with not move at times in forward or reverse. My question is a very good friend of mine had the same mower and with very similar hours and his hydra stat just went out. Is there an issue with this model or a recall on this hydra stat unit of this mower?
    Details:

Mower is an GTH26V52LS with 377 hours.Unit was purchased in 2011

When the last time you changed out the drive belt and idlers? They do wear out and cause slipping which can mimic a bad hydro.

changed out the drive belt this spring. Usually do that before the season starts. Ran the mower today and it hydro stat just keeps getting worse. Also the unit leaked fluid at one time. Seems not to leak now.

If the unit leaked fluid with none being replaced and leak was never fixed it is possible that it is out fluid. Can't pump fluid if there none to pump.

I pretty sure it is the hydro . Just can't believe this unit is only 5 years old and with 377 hrs and the transmission is going out. This is with the same model with two different units. How many others have had this problem ??

I was told by a repairman that the transmission  was a sealed unit and fluid could not be replaced. Is that so? Your right about the fluid not being there but he told me the pressure caused the seals to go and that was were the fluid came from. so now why did the pressure cause the seal to bust? obviously there is an issue with the transmission. New transmission is $ 1200.00 i was told. So why does two seperate mowers that are identical have the same issue go bad at the same time?

That I can't answer as I don't the real history behind the mower usage.

Pardon me but that is a bunch of bull for that Hydro Gear G730 transaxle. Actually list in the IPL as G7-BCBB-1XDC-1FCA. Now parts availability might be a problem as they must be order through Hydro Gear.

First the oil has to be replaceable due servicing the unit. Second although it is considered a sealed unit (End User wise) it is serviceable. Why would manufacture spec the amount of replacement 20W50 motor oil in the service manual for a completely dry system which a rebuild is.

      Oil Volume:

      2747 – 2847 ml
      (.726 – .752 GAL)
      (5.39 – 5.59 LB)
      (92.9 – 96.3 fl. oz.)

And for the seals the pressure is the static pressure oil weight only along normal oil creep and any internal pressure buildup from oil expansion when heated is vented through the breather. The pressurize part of the system is oil pump and center section that drive the rotor that turns the gears that drives that axles and through the external oil filter which it ipl indicates it has.

Now if the breather is plugged then it might blow a seal.
