    Question:
Trimmer pole extension that the weed trimmer / edger / hedger attachments connect to is now not letting the male / female connectors fully connect, falls short just below the pop out lock nut (not sure technical term is).
    Details:

My 6 month old Husqvarna weed trimmer has been running flawless for months. Engine still does, problem is the pole extension that the weed trimmer / edger / hedger attachments connect to is now not letting the male / female connectors fully connect, falls short just below the pop out lock nut (not sure technical term is).  I cannot for the life of me get these attachments to connect now.  All has been well up to now and to be honest, with 23 years of other similar connections with other brands, I have never seen this issue (every other kind, but not this).  Anyone?  And the housing uses a hex type bolt that as of now, I do not have so cannot open it (at first I thought it was  STD chuck wrench key).  Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

My model is a Husqvarna 120CD/LD.

See http://answerarmy.com/posts/4f82ad9bee  You're not the only one with this problem.  I have it too.  It is a star bolt on mine, not a hex.
