    Question:
I have a MZT52 that I purchased and started for the first time since buying it in the fall. Started right up. However, when I engage the steering control levers, the engine kills when they are fully engaged. The parking brake is released so that isn't it and I checked under the seat for any loose/disconnected wires for a kill switch and don't find anything out of sorts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmmm, I don't see anything in the electric that would cause this; unless, the brake switch itself didn't switch over; otherwords, stuck in park position.

Is it doing it with one particular steering control pulled and slight engaged? I had a Toro ZTR here where one of the hydros itself had an internal motor problem and overload the engine and kill it. Basically the hydro was locked up.

I can check to see if it's only one handle doing it as I have just been pulling both in at the same time. However when the motor starts to shut down when I pull the handles into the fully engaged position, the engine doesn't act like it's overloaded. It just sounds like a motor that is being shut off like when you turn the key.

I can actually get the mower to creep along by not pulling the handles all the way- just short of the fully engaged position. So it would seem to some kill switch is activating.

I did a check and either lever will kill the engine when brought into the fully engaged position.
