Zero Turn Mowers

My 54" zero turn leaves two streaks of uncut grass between the blades. This has happened since the very first day riding when I hit a metal box buried in the grass. I had to buy to new blades and replaced the damaged ones. What is the orientation of the blades supposed to be? If it's not the orientation, what else could it be? Thank you
