    Question:
I spent over $500 in repairs on my new Husqvarna 2346XLS lawn tractor within the first year. One cylinder was not firing because of a dirty carburetor (over $250), a main jet was clogged (over $150), and the carburetor was dumping gas into the crankcase(over $140). In the second year(with the warranty about to expire) a wheel came loose, the mower V-belt broke and the battery was not charging.

Is all of this normal, or did I get a lemon?

    Thanks for your question.

The engine information you posted sounds like it is from old/stale fuel. If it was a warrant-able failure the dealer would need to contact the engine manufacture on those issues. The belts carry a 30 day manufacture warranty from factory because of it being a wear item. As for the wheel coming loose unless you hit something or a clip broke it should not have came off. The battery charging system will also need to be checked, but it could be something as simple as a blown fuse.

Now for all of the carburetor problems you have had.

The way they refine the fuel now it only lasts with out any type of additive between 15 to 18 days before it starts to become nonvolatile. I recommend using at least 89 octane in small engines and use enough to get through your job and that way you keep fresh fuel in machine. Please take to your local dealer and have them check and give tech support a call. Thanks and have a great day.
