Guys,
I'm confused by my bar and chain combination on the new 450 Rancher I purchased last month. The Chain links clearly show a number 25 which I though indicated an H25 chain. That would be .325" pitch and .058" gage. The bar, however, is a 580 87 62-80, a 20" bar marked for .325" pitch and a .050" gage. Both the links and the bar are visible in the photo. Am I mis-reading the chain label or was the saw shipped with an incompatible chain?

That is the the depth gauge setting. The number your referring to for the chain type is on the drive links which is hidden in the bar groove currently.
I would post a viewable image but Photo Bucket was down Click the following link to view image. The circled areas are where you will find the chain type number.

Thanks so much. That cleared it up. Once you said it, the diagram in the owners manual made more sense. (I'm obviously a knucklehead.) I should've known that the number was on the lower part of the drive links. My OCD just wouldn't let it rest.
I'm ordering a Granberg ripping chain and just wasn't comfortable with the apparent discrepancy.
