    Question:
Can't find where the end with the washer and cotter pin of the brake rod connect.

    Details:

My friend disconnected the brake rod from the Huskvarna YTH 24K48 so we could access other assemblies. Now the mower is back together and everything seems to work but we can't find where the end with the washer and cotter pin of the brake rod connect.

The brake pedal seems to need a bit more assistance to return to fully disengaged so it may need this rod connected to give it more upward movement, but we can't see what it hooks into?

I have attached a URL with a picture of the part (C29). The part goes from front to rear on the mower. The front connects to the left to right assembly which is operated by the actual brake pedal, it's the rear 'L' shaped end which had a washer and cotter pin that we cannot find a connection point for.

Select the "Drive" section to see part #C29.

Can someone post a picture of where/how it connects. Thank you

Goes to the brake on transaxle via a large spring

Thanks, but I think I need a little more than that. Do you have a picture of where it connects to the "transaxle"?

I provided a link to a parts site so we might speak in pictures since I'm not a mechanic (I do have a good mechanical aptitude though). I assume the spring you refer to is # C17 at the parts site. If that's true the spring is missing and that explains why the connecting point is not obvious.

        Here's the link again.

The parts we're talking about are listed in the "Drive" section (3rd page of the parts list). Please confirm that C17 is the spring that connects to C29 and help me understand where the other end of the spring goes. A picture would be a big help.

See if this helps. They connect to item 76 on the Tuff Torq K57R. I would provide an actual but I don't have one these mower on repair yard.

Thank you very much. I will go look for the spring and now know where to connect it thanks to you.

      Kudos!

For what it's worth, the spring was on top of the housing. I guess that seemed like a good place for the person who disconnected it to set it.

        Thanks again.
