I have a Craftsman 917.387270 Walk behind mower that I need to purchase a new body for, and Sears parts direct is absolutely no help.
They sent me one that has two extra large hole one is the Drive motor for self propelled the other is next to the hole where engine mounts. After many calls to rectify the situation they told me to call American Yard Products, This is not an easy task.
Does anyone know where I can purchase a new Body?
In picture below the two rectangular holes shouldn't be there.

It looks like your looking for part number 583044601. It may be a problem to get through as many sites are listing as NLA. Check with Jacks Small Engines and see if they can get it for you.
