      As far as can the owner replace it depends your ability.

      According the IPL you have a Briggs engine on it. Yes the carburetor can be replaced but at $85 plus shipping it might be worth it if you cleaned it as these are simple Nikki carburetors. Probably will need a new bowl gasket as these can be easily nicked leading to fuel leaks. Also may need a new main jet if it is loose because a shrunken o-ring.

      I would not order a carburetor kit as it is costly as it is just gaskets and you don't get the main jet, plus there two different kits as there are two different bowl gaskets.

      Here I clean these in a ultrasonic cleaner with soap and water.

        Thanks. I've run into another issue in that I can't get the plastic cover off the machine. After an hour I've only managed to remove the bowl from the carb and drain the gas.
