    Question:
I have a YTH26V54 mower and the deck cutting height has always been to low even on the highest setting. Looking on page 23 in the owners manual will the front-to -back adjustment raise the overall height? It needs to go up at least another 3 inches for the summer heat here in the south.

If its anything similar to my brand new YTH22V46, your out of luck. I have to mow my lawn on the highest setting (number 6) and even then I hope the grass doesn't burn.  Ill be in trouble come next spring when the grass gets high before its dry enough to mow.

I looked underneath at the lifting mechanism and realized what a horrible design it is. It makes me wonder if the Engineers at Husqvarna EVER mowed a lawn in their life. There is NO room for travel, at the highest setting, the bracket on the deck only has 1/2 inch before it hits the frame of the tractor. That means at best I can only hope to gain  half an inch, and that's if I rig it somehow. I'm really disappointed, I could kick myself for not researching Husqvarna more thoroughly before buying.  I would be using a different brand for sure, had I.

Maybe you will have more room to play with since you have a much larger mower than I do, and if so, you'll need to do some fabricating of your own no doubt.  What a shame, and I was impressed by the made in America sticker on the hood too.

Thanks for the reply Pat and good comments on their engineering quality. I have not had a chance to look on any mechanical adjustments other than just mowing on the highest setting. I will tackle that in the fall when time allows. Will let you know. Perhaps they will send some oversize tiers to adjust the height?

I have a new YTH22v46 and find the cutting height TOO low even on level 6, theres no way its 4" .  Michael did you find any good answers to fix this?

I have not had a chance to look into any adjustments yet, I have just been cutting on my highest setting. It does seem like some poor engineering on Husqvarna’s part to limit the height to such a degree. I am hoping that I do not have to get larger tires to get the proper cut I should have been able to attain with their mower.

Some of the upper end models have taller wheels and more clearance. If those wheel sets are compatible with the frame of the lower end models that may provide some additional clearance. Potentially could increase the highest mower setting by two inches. My tractor looks like it could accommodate larger wheels in the back. Not sure how the larger ones would effect clearances in the front. Kind of expensive solution but it might work.
