    Question:
I just bought a HU700L walk behind mower 6 months ago. As a routine I check oil prior to use (only 10 hours so far) and run it dry with the fuel valve off following use. I went to use it and oil/gas was on the deck, crank case was full of oil/gas mix and the valve was still off. Local dealer said drain it refill and run it, just a fluke, float probably had debris in it.

Is this for real, how do I keep this incident on record so I have warranty still for future failure? If I drain and refill and then have bigger failure am I not going to be at fault for improper care and not be covered under warranty?

    Thank you,

    james

     James,

Thanks for contacting the Answer Army to post your questions.

First this may just be a typo but the way your post reads is that you are using a fuel/oil mix. A fuel/oil mix is for 2 stroke engines and your machine is a 4 stroke.

Secondly your machine is covered by the manufacture warranty for 2 years, but if you are getting oil on the deck on your machine, I would recommend taking it in to an authorized service center ASAP.

I hope this helps to answer your question. Also your question is now on file in our system, if anything does happen you can reference the incident #
