Question:
Bought a HU775EX in 2012. Will not start and When rope is pulled gas leaks from the muffler area. Took muffler off, pulled rope, gas spit everywhere What has happened? PLEASE HELP. Cannot afford another new mower
Answer
It appear you have Briggs 111P02-0130-F4 engine but this need to verified on your end. It sound the carburetor float needle seat is bad and is leaking into the crankcase and cylinder. A good cleaning and rebuild of carburetor should solve the leakage problem,. Be advised this leakage most likely has diluted your engine oil so it will also needs to be changed too.
