Saw would not rev past 11500rpm no load...escalated

3120XP 1998 year.
Saw would not rev past 11500rpm no load 20" bar. Replaced coil with new, no better, tried known working carburetor off another 3120 of the same year that does rev up, still no better. (also tried coil off same saw)
Called tech, was asked about intake side of piston/cylinder and to see if it was leaking, did gear oil test on bottom end, no bubbles come up through intake. Compression cold was 150#.
Pulled apart bottom end, found bad crank bearings (very gritty), replaced with new OEM bearings, seals and gasket set, let the saw warm up, and still won't rev past 11500.
any ideas!?
