    Question:
I have a Husqvarna 455 Rancher 20" blade and chain. After using the chain and adjusting the tension over 4 to 6 hours of use, the chain tension adjustment is at the end of the space and the chain is still very loose. I have purchased a new Husqvarna blade and chain designed for the 455. Any suggestions or solutions? The chain is still sharp and cuts as when I first put it on the chain saw.

Hi James thanks for using the Answer Army to post your questions.

It is not abnormal for chains to stretch after use to some extent, however for them to stretch to this extent is uncommon. Of course, and as you have mentioned be sure that your chain is sharp and is cutting pieces of wood roughly the size of you little finger's nail. Given a dull chain would be the leading cause for the chain to stretch excessively. If you continue to have issues with this unit please take the machine to a dealer near you using the following link to find the one that is nearest: /images/us/homeowner/dealers/dealer-locator/
