    Question:
I brought my brand new FT900 home today. I spent considerable time reading the manual, got it started and used it for about two hours, then it cut off. There was still fuel in it, so the obvious is not the problem. Now, I can't get it started. PLEASE DON'T POST THE CANNED ANSWER ABOUT IT SITTING THERE A LONG TIME. THIS IS A NEW UNIT. I feel like just taking it back and getting something else. I need someone to help me troubleshoot this ...

Your particular engine looks to have an low oil sensor which shut the engine whenever the oil is too low.

First verify the engine oil properly filled. If so then sensor module may have failed. I know Honda this does happen and the Briggs is a copy of the Honda design. Unplugging the sensor would defeat it function and if the engine starts afterwards then either sensor module or oil sensor in the engine has failed. It would require service to restore it to proper operation or depending on the dealer's policy they just swap out it since you just brought it.
