    Question:
I have a 562XP chainsaw. The oil adjustment screw only turns to the left..counterclockwise. It is a ramped screw and does not have a stop like my 550 or 460 chainsaws. How do you tell which position it is in. For example: Min setting vs Max setting?

      DW,

The oiler should work as described in the OM manual:  "The oil pump is adjustable. Adjustments are made by turning the screw using a screwdriver or combination spanner. The machine is supplied from the factory with the screw set to middle position. Turning the screw clockwise will reduce the oil flow and turning the screw anti-clockwise will increase the oil flow."

Also I believe there should be a stop when turned to the extreme clockwise or counterclockwise position, If not their maybe a problem with your oiler. I would recommend referring to the IPL drawing and check that your oiler is assembled the same as the IPl drawing. I believe there is a little roll pin inside the oiler that creates that stop position. It may be worn, missing or needs to be replaced.

I hope the above information helps.

PS. I am Not a Husqvarna Representative or a repair service, just an experimental chainsaw person

Also, I have attached a picture of the oil pump, and I believe the roll pin is part of adjusting screw part # 12.
