    Question:
In my business, I own many Husqvarna tools, including chain saws and mowers. They have proven to be incredibly tough tools and I am very pleased with them... until my latest purchase. I bought an HU775H/961450007 walk-behind mower for my home about three weeks ago, and I have found it to be unable to measure up to your durable reputation! I believe that there are a few design flaws and am hoping that my complaint will help change the design. (I am also having problems finding the correct parts)

Problem #1- The gas cap on the Briggs engine has two small tabs that catch tabs on the inside of the gas tank spout. The first time one of my employees bumped it while mowing under a swing set, the tab broke off and the cap no longer stays on. All my other gas tank caps have threads (not two tabs) that allow the cap to screw on over the spout (on the outside instead of the inside). I couldn't break those outside, threaded caps off my Husqvarna tools with a hammer!

Problem #2- The removable grass discharge deflector that clips under the mulch door is constructed of an incredibly soft plastic. The first time one of my employees brushed against a tree, the discharge deflector's clips broke off and now it comes off while pushing through grass.

These are not things I would expect from a company with a reputation as firm as yours. I hope that you consider these thoughts as you design your next mowers, and I hope you can point me in the right direction for new parts.

    Sincerely,
    Richard T Walter Jr

     Hi Rich,

Thank you for using our products. In regards to the two issues you brought up.

#1 This engine is made by Briggs and Stratton. If you have an issue with anything concerning the engine you would need to contact them.I own several pieces of equipment that have the same two tabs holding the gas caps on and have had no problems.

#2 These mowers are designed for the average homeowner not commercial use and as such might not handle the demands asked of them when used as such. Most of your problems seem to be coming from your employees and how they are using/treating your equipment. That's why I was an owner/operator as nobody takes care of your equipment like you do. They didn't buy it so they usually don't have as much concern over how it's taken care of.

Husqvarna does not sell any parts direct. You can find your local Husqvarna dealers for sales, service, parts and manuals using the link. /images/us/homeowner/home/ . You must contact your local Husqvarna Service center for any and all parts and service as well as pricing. Any Husqvarna dealer should be able to order parts as needed. All units are sold through either national retailers or local dealers and as such they control the retail pricing. Unfortunately we do not have direct information on who carries what units/parts. Any of the dealers should be able to order this for you. You may find the product is available at many national retailers.

Always try GOOGLE for your model or part # (drop the spaces and dashes) and you can find out a lot of information about your unit or distributors trying to sell you parts.

You can also try these websites: www.ordertree.com or www.jackssmallengines.com or www.searspartsdirect.com

Hope this helps. Thanks for using our products and have a great day.
