Question:
Last night I unboxed a brand new LC 221RH mower. In the bottom of the box was a C Clip. I've searched the mower for possible places where this might go. I've also looked at a detailed parts schematic (on-line) that is dated 2017. I don't see it there. Does this go to the mower and if so, where?

This part is called an "E Clip". It is shown as "REF 22" in the 2016-09 version of the spare parts manual, but oddly not in the 2017 version.

It holds the Pinion drive gear in place so it doesn't fall out. The rear wheel has to be removed to check for this part. After removing both wheels, it appears that this is a random part that was thrown in the box rather than put back in the bin.
Thanks to my local building supply folks for helping to identify the part. The consumer online parts diagram is not the same as was available to a dealer.
