    Question:
Howdy, bought a 560BFS backpack blower from a seller on Ebay. The unit will only run with the choke full open. I've called all my local Husqvarna dealers and they have refused to do warranty work on the unit since I "didn't buy it from them."

Looks like the carb needs adjustment.

Will the unit be damaged from running with the choke full open all the time?

Can I send in just the carb to be adjusted?

Any dealers within 50 miles of zipcode 18337 who will honor your warranty?

    Thanks.

    Kevin,

    Thanks for your question.

If the unit is used then I would say that it sounds like the carburetor may be gummed up from fuel sitting in the machine too long. In as little as 3 weeks fuel can cause damage to the jets of the carburetor and will need to be cleaned out. If the unit is new then it is a simple adjustment that a certified technician could preform.

With all of that said unless the seller on Ebay is a Authorized Husqvarna dealer then unfortunately there is no warranty on the machine. We (Husqvarna) do not sale product on Ebay directly but the dealers can. There are times when someone will buy our reconditioned units and then put them on a web site to move at a discount. Unfortunately this is out of our hands due to the Free Trade Act we can not stop this from happening.

You can use our dealer locator listed below to find an authorized service center in your area, but if the seller isnt authorized and thre is no warranty then you can take it to any repair shop to have the unit adjusted. One thing you can try is to run some fuel additive like START through the machine and if it is just clogged jets then that should clean them out.

    Thanks again

      Greg,

The unit was brand new, not reconditioned.

Looks like the seller was not an authorized dealer.  Yay!  So I'm SOL on the warranty.

Will the unit be damaged by running with the choke open?  Or will it just burn more gas?

      Seems to run fine.
