    Question:
Can anyone tell me if the 2 year warranty covers the friction wheel in the transaxle assembly? I'm hoping they do as that part isn't available and the replacement is a 330.00 entire transaxle assembly. I'm assuming they are replacing the entire assembly because there are issues with the existing tranny? My weedeater is only 10 months old and is totally non functional at this point. Service shops are telling me labor alone will be around 150.00 to 200.00 plus part. That's over 500.00 repair bill for a 600.00 lawn mower!!!! Non of the authorized weedeater repair shops can tell me if it's warrantied. I don't understand that at all. They say they need to take it apart first. I'm not willing to let a dealer work on it not knowing what the outcome could be as far as out of pocket expense. Man I wish I would have never bought this pile of junk!! Nothing but troubles from day 1.

    Thank you for contacting AnswerARMY.

Warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship, for a specified time based in part upon the date of purchase as well as how the unit is used.

I agree in part wit the dealers that they need to verify the failure before they can answer. I can say the drive disc is warranted along with the rest of the machine for the normal warranty period. So as long as the drive disc did not fail due to misuse or abuse and it failed due to a manufacturers defect then yes the transmission is warrantable.

Please get the machine to a local authorized service center, they can call their distributor for clarifiacation on the warranty if needed.

You can find your local Weed Eater dealers for sales and service as well as manuals and a place to order parts using the link provided http://www.weedeater.com choose the appropriate link at the bottom of the page.

Service Locator  (Canadian customers use postal code no spacing)
    Contact Us
    Download Manuals (Operator's and IPL's)
Order Parts (This is a third party company not Weed Eater)  or can contact local dealer.

Your local dealer is your best and fastest source of information.

All repairs for warranty consideration must be evaluated and completed by an authorized Weed Eater service center. If determined to be warranty the repairs will be completed by the servicing dealer, the servicing dealer will file the necessary claims. If not warranty the dealer should provide an estimate or quote for the required repairs.
