    Question:
Twice in the past week the blade bolt on my HU 625AWD mower has sheared off. I can't seem to find this part listed anywhere. I picked the correct size up in a hardware store, but it sheared off within 5 minutes. Also, the shaft the drive pulley/blade bolts to appears to have a channel cut in its side. Am I also missing a key that should be installed in this channel, or is the bolt the only thing that holds the blade/pulley on? I can't find a detailed drawing of this assembly online.

You need to be using a grade 8; most hardware bolts are usually cheap un-graded bolts. Also needs to be torqued to 55-65 ft-lbs.

Second the pulley itself has the key manufactured into it and it design to shear on impacts. If it is either bent out of place or completely sheared off then the pulley assembly needs replacing.

Thank you for that information. I found a local Husqvarna dealer and he told me about the key in the pulley. Mine was sheered off so cleanly it was hard to see it was ever there. I've ordered the new parts and will be good to go when they arrive. Thanks again!
