      Jacob,

There are actually many reasons that chainsaws will leak oil, If you go to the top of the page in the box that says "search" and type "Oil Leaks", you will get a list of possible causes and possible solutions.

Some oil leaks are normal, for instance if you use your chainsaw and immedately store it in a case the oil that was on the bar will run back to about where the clutch is on the chainsaw and then drip off making a small puddle. Oh, also I had a chainsaw that I put in an outdoor shed that got very warm in the summer like 90-100 degrees, and the heat caused the oil to expand and push itself out of the tank into my chainsaw case, when I stored the chainsaw at a cooler location, it was fine.

I recently fixed a chainsaw that had a bad gasket on the oil fill cap, and it was leaking alot of oil but very gradual like overnight. It also looked like it was leaking from under or inside the chainsaw, but nope it was definitely the oil cap gasket.

One solution  to your problem is try to find exactly where the oil is leaking from, by wiping all the oil off of the chainsaw, then set it on some paper, like newspaper, and see if you can tell where the oil first starts dripping or staining the paper at, and if its near the oil cap, I would check the oil cap gasket.

Again there are many possible reasons, please check out the search box. Also since its a New chainsaw, You may want to take it to a Husqvarna Repair center, and see if its a warranty repair, but it may be something easy that you can correct yourself.

I hope this helps, If you locate where on the paper the oil stain occurs at, I may be able to suggest what to look for, and where to look next. Just post a reply to this message, and I will take a look at one of my Model 460's and send you a message.

PS. I am Not a Husqvarna Representative or an Authorized Repair, just an experimental chainsaw person.
