    Question:
I have am ECHO 440 EVL that is ready for retirement unfortunately I'm not. I would like to try a Husqvarna of equal or more HP with a 20 inch bar. Here in Fairbanks are mostly spruce and birch 20 in diameter max. 5-8 cords per year will be the average. What size would you recommend ?

Thank you for contacting the AnswerARMY.

Husqvarna produces the finest chainsaws in the world. We have models very close to the physical size of the 440EVL Our 400 series family is set for consumer and prosumer usage.

The 450 chainsaw can be equipped to accept the 20" bar and chain, this is a good all round consumer saw.

The 455 chainsaw can be equipped to accept the 20" bar and chain, this is a good all round prosumer saw. <-- recommended for 5-8 cord of wood.

I suspect either one of these would be a big step above the power of the 440EVL.

Make sure to ALWAYS use fresh mixed fuel, todays fuel has a very short shelf life typically around 30 days. Not like the fuel used when you purchased the other saw.

To find your local authorized service center use the dealer locator on this website: http://www.husqvarna.com.
