Question:
im working on 2 husqvarna 55 chain saws. all the parts places have model number choices like 55 -" Husqvarna Chainsaw (2000-05)" i don't know how to decipher it because on the 2 i have nothing matches up.
the first one the tag only says:
husqvara 55.
1999 9040703 i took it apart and it has a mahle 44zn15 cylinder jug and 45mm bore. shouldnt a 55 have 46mm bore??? is it a 1999 model??
the second one isthe week can't be 90 since there are only 52 in a year.

967 05 27-00
01 2400655

Although later models had a 46mm PNC the earlier models had 45mm PNCs which technically made them Model 51's. Just use the 46mm PNC as the crankshaft and rod are the same. Someone may also have just used the 51 PNC setup on a previous rebuild.
Btw the way the second saw is a 2001 model. Here is a link to the IPL for the 1998-06 models.

I just needed rings cylinder and piston are excellent. which ring do i need? CONFUSED because cylinder says it's 44zn15 which means 44mm i think.
oh so that in the parenthesis is the year??? because some of the part listing read : why do the years go from high to low and over lap???

Yes those the year covered by release IPL but as you see there multiple releases and sometimes you got the compare the parts as some saws are slightly different in their config. It just how the Sweds done their IPL system.
It is like my 450 which in fact a 450-II some of the the parts from the older saws will fit without problems but customer would prefer the tank with fuel level window. It really going drive whoever gets it later as the saw has adjustable oil pump for the bar will not match to the 450 ipls since 450s don't have adjustable oil pumps normally. Now of some 450 had screw on top covers and others used clips.
As for which rings you need just caliper the cylinder. It will most likely measure very close to 46mm as would the piston. Don't guess, measure it.
