    I have a used Lth1542 someone gave to me not running.
    Does the transaxle always stay in geat? I figured if the sifter was in neutral, you could easily roll it around. Anyone know?

      Yes but the there is a bypass valve lever on the back of the mower that you pull and latch so the mower can be easily push around. Just remember to release when your through.

        This mower seems to be missing the lever completely.

        The locking slot is there but there is noting to pull thru it.

        Can you tell me where the terminal end should be?

        I have the mover on a jack but haven't been able to see a place for a lever to attach.......and since there is two slots, I presume there would be two levers?  

        I got zero with this machine.  Thank you!

      Okay looked up the Hydro Gear 322-0510 the bypass lever should be close to brake rotor disc which should be on the RH side. It must held in the release position for it to bypass.

      Here is a pic of the brake disc and a lever support with no lever.  I ran a wire thru it for identification purposes.  

      Is this where you have directed me?

        yes that appear to be right if I viewing correctly. I have personally seen this setup just referencing the tranaxle IPL.

      I pulled the wire but both wheels continued to spin in opposing directions..................hey, sort of like our government, but let's not get off on that...........
      So. both wheels should move in the same direction with the lever pulled and locked, right?

        On the ground yes, Off the ground then it could still be like rear differential where wheels will opposite of each other because the spider gear arrangement that one turn more in a turn than other without slide the other. The main reason why it does off the ground is that there is still some resistance in the transaxle as the 20w50 fluid still has to pass thru a check valve that you open.

        I just checked a LGT2554 here that has broken axle and they do spin oppose of each other off the ground even when in bypass mode.

      will give it a try.
      My next problem or question concerns the junk between the fuel tank and the carb,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,some diaphragm and electric stuff.
      I don't suppose we can turn it into a gravity feed carb.
      Really, I don't know it there is a problem with the stuff I mentioned.
      What can I do to confirm it is ok?
      You are being a great help to me and I appreciate you so much.
      I plan to set the valves too.  I am sure they are in need of adjustment. .004, right?
