    Question:
I have a 125L trimmer (it is 8 yrs old) and the shaft is making a lot of noise especially when it decelerates. I added some grease to the head where the trimmer string attaches and that did not help. Is there something else I need to check?

    Thanks!

It depends on which end is making the noise. If it down at the gearbox then it may need replacing as the bearing may be going bad. If it is at the the powerhead (motor) then the clutch drum can be worn out and needs replacing. If neither of these then the only item is the driveshaft tube assembly.
