Question:

I just bought a 390xp chainsaw from husqvarna...I've used it twice I pulled the cover off to check air filter and there was oil in it. Is that common?

Nope, Not normal. I would suggest taking it back to where you purchased it, or contact a local Husqvarna dealer.

But please, when you find out the answer to your problem, Please post it here.
