    Question:
Husqvarna 235 chain saw shuts off when idling. It starts, runs, and cuts fine, but turns off when it goes to idle.
    Details:

We purchased a Husqvarna 235 chainsaw a while back, which has been running great.  I used it about 3 weeks ago and it was working fine.  However, when I went to use it yesterday, it would start up fine and cut fine, but when it went to idle, the chainsaw would shut off.  I have never had any problem with it before, so I'm not sure what to do.  It starts and runs fine, but when it goes to idle, it shuts off completely.  Any ideas???

Probably straving for fuel at idle due to hardening of the metering diaphargm or it just set too lean mixture wise or idle speed is too low.

      Gerald,

I would probably check the condition of the fuel first, If its old fuel like  a month or more old, dump the fuel out, recycle the fuel, and put a new fuel mixture in the chainsaw. Next, I would check the condition of the fuel filter, It should be pristine white, If its starting to yellow, replace the fuel filter, the filters are pretty reasonable If you buy them in bulk, like 20 filters would last almost a lifetime, and may only cost $15 - $20 in bulk.. Finally as Eugene suggested check the carburetor, It could be a number of different problems internal to the carburetor, including just a good internal carburetor cleaning.

      I hope this helps
