    Question:
    Just finished tuning up & repairing 2 older (late 80's?) Husqvarna 268XP. One has the 18" chain that came with it, the other a new 20" bar and chain. These were siting for years and I got them in a trade so I don't know much about them.
    I would like to get a couple of carrying cases for them, but I have no idea what they will fit in. The manual and parts list is no longer offered on the website. I am guessing they would fit in the classic with the rounded edges, but not sure. I can keep them in the back and trial and error method each time I see one at a shop, or order online and hope,
    Just thinking that someone has already figured this out. Let me know.
    Thanks!

      The part IPLs are not a problem. Just search /images/us/support/manuals-downloads/

      using "IPL, 268".

      As for the case with being a 67cc saw probably will need the case that fits the 570 but the one for 450 might fit it.

      Thanks for the link. Seems like they are pretty sturdy saws.

      I ended up getting both the Powerbox and the classic. Powerbox fits it a little better with more room, but because of shipping delays from Amazon & FedEx, I ended up getting an extra classic case for free.

      I want yo get a new chain for the 18", do all Husqvarnas use the same chains?

        No they do not. Your current setup should noted the bar's tail. It can be 3/8 LP, .325 or 3/8 Std. but likely with the 268 it is either .325 or 3/8 Std. Then there is the different gauges like .050 or .058. On top some bars use number of drive links. As noted this info is usually on the bar.

          It looks like it is 3/8 & 0.058. Using a chart I found on jackssmallengines.com, it appears that it's actually an 16 inch. I never did measure the length, just thought if was 18 by eyeballing it.
