    Question:
HU800AWD Drive cable spring is broken. It's the one the cable passes through at the body end terminus. The upper hook/anchor portion of the spring is broken at 2.5 turns above the lower crooked end/anchor.

The Husqvarna fiche doesn't show it as a separate part from the cable 581 95 21-01 nor do photos of the cable I've found at online parts retailer. I see 2 springs listed and pictures do not depict the remnants of the one I have.

Is this spring included with the cable? Am I suffering from an advanced case of myopia? Is there a secrete part number I can order?

Furthermore and finally...to what does the upper end hook?

Due the way the cable is constructed the spring is already attached to the cable and is not available separately. The other end is mounted in the drive control handle assembly.

Note: I have yet to work on of the two handle version so I am unable to advise on the reassembly of this assembly.

Thank you for your response, Eugene. If you can enlarge the photo above, it appears that the upper end of the spring is broken; the powder coating is missing. That is the end I was thinking was missing and wondering about it's anchoring.

I re-examined the photo of the cable on e-replacements site this morning and see that the spring is a component of the cable. I could not see it (for some reason) prior to posting my question. Myopia may be the answer after all.

I hate open ended and dead threads when searching for info. I therefore will post again once the cable arrives and I've completed the repair.
