    Question:
How do you clean the handbrake switch connector terminals and the seat switch terminals? I read that this could be what the problem with my mower is. Not sure is this is the case.
    Details:

I lower the handbrake and the zero turn mower dies immediately.

Since the mower is shutting down as you release the brake it more likely that the seat switch connector isn't fully plugged in. It has a built-in shorting device that is intended to prevent the operator trying to disable the seat safety switch. I have seen where the retaining breaks and allows the connector to partially slip off.
