Question:

I have a RZ5424, hour meter unplugged? On the back of the hour meter there are 3 prongs, 2 are facing same direction and the other is perpindicular. I only see to plugs hanging in that loacation that would hook to hour meter. My question is which 2 prongs do the plugs hook up too?

Sorry you are having issues with your RZ5424 mower.

The hour meter is very important so that you can perform maintenance on the mower at the correct time intervals.

The connector plugs will fit onto the two terminals that are perpendicular. ___

Ok thanks for the help! I also notice that one of the female connector has 2 wires going into it and i believe they were purple. The other female connector only had one wire going into it. Does it matter if a specific female connector goes on the (male) vertical or (male) Hortzonial?

Mr. Shelley,

The hour meter has protection against reverse polarity so if it is hooked up wrong, the hour meter will not work. Attach the purple wire to terminal that is perpendicular to the other two terminals. The black wire to the adjacent terminal.

The hour meter always stays on. I have it off the mower completely,in hand and it's still showing 135.8 along with the hour glass on left side still showing.Is this a bad meter? Also will it drain the battery if I just let it be?
