    Question:
I own a Z246 zero turn mower and recently when I was mowing, it just stopped in place like I got caught on something. I ended up turning it off and moved it back some, but after I got it moved, there wasn't anything there that it could have got caught on. When I started it back up, it would not move at all. The engine starts up great and the blades engage just fine. I found out that the drive belt came off and I got it put back on correctly, but the mower still won't move forward or reverse. I've checked everything I could think of and nothing is loose, disconnected, or broken that I can see. The steering levers do feel like they are a little tighter to move than before. Is it something simple I'm overlooking or did some major part(s) go bad on me and it will need to be serviced?

    Thanks,
    Adam

Adam, Since the mower will not at all it is possible that you haven't got the belt back on all the pulleys correctly. Also make sure the idler pulley isn't binding from a bad bearing. I suspect it is still off the engine pulley and is just on the crankshaft extension.

I double checked the idler pulley and it is spinning, the belt is moving and it is on all the pulleys pretty snug.  Everything operates normally otherwise, but it still won't move forward or reverse.  Is there a diagram showing the way the drive belt should be ran through the pulleys just incase I ran it incorrectly?  All I can ever find is diagrams for the deck belt.  If the belt happens to be on correctly and since all the pulleys are working, is there anything else I should check for?

      Thanks

You didn't use the bypass on the transaxles to move it and forget to undo it?

The bypass for the transaxles are set to the correct position for driving.

Thank you so much for that diagram!  I did have the belt on incorrectly and it runs great now!  Thank you so much for your help Eugene!

Glad you got it. You had me wondering what it else could it be other than a highly unlikely sheared engine pulley key.
