    Question:
I have 1130SB XLS and the impeller shear bolts failed to shear and I have to replace the pulley and shaft. Should I just run one of the bolts to prevent it from happening again?

What grade of bolts (screws) were used that fail to shear? Also what grade are the auger shear bolts? I would have thought that one of the auger shear bolts would sheared first.

You don't want to be using grade 5 or grade 8 bolts as they won't shear easily.

Since your are wanting them to shear you are going to want them under a grade 5. Most regular hardware stores should be able help with this but the big box stores may not a person knowledge about grades.

Most bolt without any head markings are usually considered a grade 2 and will a shear strength about half that of a grade 5. This is about 60,000 PSI vs 120,000 PSI.

The impeller had 2 grade 5 bolts The auger sheared once. Not the time the the impeller pulley spun on the shaft.
