    Question:
I lost a couple of rear bar nuts (clutch cover) in one morning off my one year old 455 Rancher .
When I put them on, I tighten them firmly with the spanner, but it doesn't seem to be enough.
What am I missing - part or technique? Should I put on LockTite?

Thanks for any suggestions and advice

Might try using a washer and a nylon lock nut (M8-1.25)

      Robert,

Check that the bar "Shipping Washers" were Not left installed with the bar installed. They are usually white foam or sometimes hard black plastic and have a symbol on them " To be removed & discarded" before using chainsaw. They look like spacers either behind or infront of the bar over the Bar studs. Remove the bar and chain and make sure the spacers have been discarded.

Do Not use Loctite or any thread compound, In-fact quite the opposite you want the threads on the bar bolts & bar nuts thoroughly clean, I have even taken a "Thread die" to chase the threads to make sure the bar nuts go on smoothly, and use a little spray of WD40, on the bar bolts after a thorough cleaning. You should be using the Original OEM bar nuts, or replace them with OEM bar nuts, since they are manufactured with a shoulder type washer on the nut, and obviously installing the bar nuts in the correct orientation. Do Not Use Standard "Hardware Store Nuts" that seem to fit .

I hope this helps, and please let me know If you need additional help

PS. I am Not a Husqvarna Representative or a Repair Service, just an experimental chainsaw person
