Hope you got it moving by now. You didn't state what model # it is! but on my yth22v46 the is a metal rod/pin to the right of the center of the rear tractor. That engages\disengages the trans push it in and it should move. Lowes delivered my tractor that way and was real pissed when I started it and wouldn't go until I jimmied the rod

Only have the YTH18542 but stumbling accross this answer saved me from blowing a blood vessel. Sitting in the driveway on a new mower that would start and not go into gear had me turning red. Mine delivered from Lowes the same way.
