I would think something is wrong. Have you eliminated a muffler problem or exhaust gasket problem?

I would suspect the muffler gasket is leaking exhaust at the bottom of the muffler. Is there any other parts getting hot, like is your chainsaw bar getting really hot ? or any plastic parts like the Top cover melting or showing signs of heating ? Is your clutch getting hot or any signs of blue colored metal on your clutch or drive drum ?  Is your cylinder fins clean, If you have an air compressor Blow out the cylinder fins, and also the starter to make sure air is able to get around the engine, and cool the engine. Does your chainsaw idle, and run at the correct RPM's ?

I hope the suggestions help, but you will need a real thorough Inspection of the chainsaw, and No your chainsaw bar oil should definitely Not be boiling, I would stop using the chainsaw until you find the probelm. If you have not already scored the piston and rings, and If the chainsaw is getting that hot, then an engine sieze will be next.

Please let me know, If you discover any other signs of something else overheating, and I may be able to send you a suggestion of why. The bar chain oil boiling is an end result of something else overheating.

PS. I am not a Husqvarna Representative or Repair Service, just an experimental chainsaw person.

Hi, loocks like the oiler was not ok, also i had an air leak that made the saw run faster and hoter then normal. You can connect the saw to the computer run it in full speed and chek if all parameters in limets. Chekif your chain oil tank is going empty when feul tank empty. If not the oil will be wery hot/boiling... I chgd the upper heag and the oiling pump and have no problems ...
