Question:
Motion Drive Belt Came Off and is Wedged Between Pulley and Transmission - Help!
42" Riding Lawn Mower (Model YTH22V42, product 960430100): Motion drive belt jumped off transmission input pulley (under battery) and is wedged tightly between the lower side of the pulley and transmission casing.
How do I remove the transmission input pulley?
Are there any other suggestions on how to un-wedge the motion drive belt?
Thank you!
Frank
Answer
Check your model as when I search the number given I get a grass catcher and repost the mower model number.

To remove the pulley it probably easier to drop the transaxle to get to it. On top of the input shaft there is a snap ring (item 87) that needs removing so the fan and pulley can be removed. Be carefully not to lose the wave washer (item 86).

Problem Solved! Thanks Eugene.
I removed the battery and battery housing (plastic bucket easily removed by pressing in the side latches) to provide easy access to the fan and pulley. I used a 1.2 mm snap ring pliers and removed snap ring (#87). Fan (#85) and pulley (#84) lifted off easily by hand. I lifted up the drive belt, re-installed pulley, fan, snap ring and re-installed drive belt. The tractor now moves forward and backwards ... imaging that!
It's always so easy with a little help from your friends.
